Blister Pack recycling, TerraCycle and Podback

Blister Pack recycling

We are delighted to announce that BLISTER PACK RECYCLING is back!

This has been one of our most missed recycling services and so we have managed to find a company called MYGroup who run a take back scheme.

This is a service we are paying for, so we would welcome any donations to enable us to continue this trial to help keep this hard to recycle packaging out of landfill! If you are able to contribute, please visit our home page to donate via PayPal. We will also be able to accept cash donations at the reception.

If you are also able to collect empty packs from your friends, family or neighbours you can help to maximise the impact our community can have!

The box will be available at the Hub reception during our general opening hours: Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 3pm.

Please make sure the packs are empty as we will incur a fine for any contamination in the box.

Visit the MYGroup website to find out more about the scheme.

TerraCycle

TerraCycle offers a range of free schemes that are funded by conscientious companies. LCDT are signed up or have access to a number of schemes meaning we can provide the local community with more ways of disposing of their hard-to-recycle waste.

Accepted TerraCycle Waste

See below for the details of the items we can currently accept for the Terracycle scheme.

Empty Pringles cartons (all sizes. metal bottomed only)

Podback scheme

We are now accepting used plastic and aluminium coffee pods for recycling.

Please check the Podback website to see if the brand you use is accepted at ASDA Grangemouth before dropping off your pods as this is where our volunteer will take them.

If you’d prefer, you can order your own bags and send the pods to Podback via a Yodel store (currently Morrisons on the High Street, or USave on Douglas Avenue).

The pods will then be turned in to various products such as garden furniture and drinks cans, and the coffee grounds are used for renewable energy and soil improver.

When can I drop off my recycling?

All of the above items can be dropped off at the EH49 Hub during our office hours.
