Electric Bike Hire and Electric Van

Electric bikes (e-bikes) are bicycles fitted with an electric motor that provides an ‘assist’ whilst you are cycling. You still have to pedal but the motor makes it easier to tackle those big hills, like Preston Road or Manse Road, or to take on longer bike rides, such as a jaunt to the Kelpies, with ease. We have 3 electric bikes, an e-cargo bike and an electric van available for community use. If you would be interested in finding out more or borrowing them please get in touch with us.

Our Bikes

We have a fleet of electric bikes allowing us to offer you a ‘try-before-you-buy’ service, if you’re thinking about buying an electric bike, or if you just want to borrow a bike for fun. We have three adult bikes that range in size and are always looking to add more bikes to our fleet.

  • 2 x Raleigh Motus Grand Tour (large – suitable for riders from 5′ 7″)
  • 1 x Raleigh Motus Grand Tour (small – suitable for riders to 5’7″)
  • 1 x Tern GSD E-cargo bike…..watch our video here for the attachments available! YOU TUBE

We picked these specific bikes as they have no crossbar, which makes it easy to get on and off them, whatever your age or mobility. We’ll supply you with a helmet, lights, lock, and high vis jacket. We also have a range of different panniers and baskets that you can borrow too – from laptop carrying cases to pannier bags and detachable shopping baskets.

Please note, we’re not a bike trader/shop – so we don’t sell bikes or accessories – we have received funding from Energy Saving Trust Scotland, Transport Scotland and the Community Climate Action Fund to be able to deliver low cost electric bike hire in Linlithgow. However, we can always point you in the direction of both e-bike shops and bike shops in the town if you’re looking to buy a bike or accessories, and can also point you in the direction of interest-free electric bike loans.

To Hire a Bike

The e-bikes are available at any time (as long as they’re not already booked out). If you would to hire one of our e-bikes then please contact us to discuss sizing and requirements and availability.

As you can see above, you can request different configurations of the e-cargo bike depending on your needs. As well as the configurations above, you can have a double seat pad on the back to comfortably carry an adult or we have two 52 L pannier bags.

In order to try out a bike, you will also need to provide us with the following documentation:

  • Current photographic ID such as driver licence or passport
  • A recent utility bill with your address on it
  • A valid debit or credit card

Please note that to hire a bike you must be over 16. The bikes also have a weight limit of 21 stone, so regrettably we cannot hire bikes out to those over 21 stone.
