Chair and Board Member with Linlithgow Community Development Trust – Goodmoves

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the Trust and bring forward more passionate local people to help guide the trust’s development. We are looking to recruit the following board level positions

  • Chair of the Board
  • Charity Trustees.

As a trustee you will help provide leadership and strategic direction to the trust, ensuring that it continually focuses on the needs and aspirations of the residents of Linlithgow ward and operates in a way that is both transparent and transformational.

As a trustee you will be asked to attend board meetings (currently 9 per year, one of which is the AGM) along with contributing to relevant small subgroup pieces of work where appropriate.

Following the previous chair standing down in April 2026. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone that would be interested in utilizing their skills and experience to provide strong leadership and direction to the organisation by undertaking the position of Chair.

These are voluntary roles, but reasonable expenses will be covered when undertaking any actions agreed on behalf of the trust.

Volunteer Admin Assistant (Linlithgow Repair Shop)

Do you have some time on a Monday and/or Friday morning? The Linlithgow Repair Shop is looking for a new volunteer admin assistant to help us with their busy workload and ambition to provide an efficient, valuable and affordable local service. The Linlithgow Repair Shop has recently celebrated its 1000th item brought in for repair. By taking on this volunteer role, you would be helping the reduce, reuse, recycle process – reducing waste and saving money in the local community.

Working as part of a small, dedicated team, the main duties would be:

  • Assisting repair shop customers in person, by telephone or via email. 
  • Ensuring all necessary paper forms are completed at each step of the repair journey. 
  • Ensuring that all spreadsheet records and repair logs are kept up to date. 
  • Cash handling and sum-up card payments (training provided)
  • Assisting with general Repair Shop set-up/take-down and tidying duties. 

While no detailed prior experience is essential, we are looking for volunteers with:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and data inputting 
  • Practical and safety-conscious
  • Reliability and punctuality

Linlithgow Repair Shop – Linlithgow Community Development Trust

Walk Leaders

Linlithgow Community Development Trust (LCDT) are looking for new volunteers to lead their programme of short and easy walks in Linlithgow on a rota basis. This is an enjoyable role which helps you and others stay active and connected for free!

We currently run weekly “Buggy and Sling Walks” in Linlithgow on Wednesday mornings for new parents/carers and their babies and hope to offer more health walks for the wider community soon, as part of our “Move for Good” activities.

Full training, expenses and support from the LCDT staff team will be provided.
